DIRECTOR’S BIOGRAPHY
RAFFAELE SCHETTINO
After classical and musical studies (piano, blues guitar) he graduated in Economics. He met the Odin Teatret in Denmark and studied in a post-graduation degree at the Federal University of Bahia (Brazil); since 2003 he attended several workshops between Italy, Denmark and Brazil and he decided to work as professional actor and director in theatre. In parallel, he continued his musical formation studying, with Giovanna Marini, oral traditional songs. In theatre he studied with Dario Fo, Franca Rame, Jean-Paul Denizon (Peter Brook’s assistant for many years) and actors from Eugenio Barba’s Odin teatret . He writes, acts and performs in several shows and international Tour.
He filmed documentations of many musical encounters; directed, filmed and edited the short length “A civil choose against the hazard games” and directed and acted a part of “Seconds”, presented at Rome Web Festival (2015). Il Mondo Magico (The magic world) is his first feature-length.
TRADITIONAL SINGERS AND MUSICIANS
Peto and Leo from the Lega di Cultura of Piadena (North)
Roberto “Peto” Seniga and Leardo “Micio” Taraschi are
known as the Duo della Lega di Cultura. They valorize the
traditional songs of Lombardia and they are capable to
emotion the Italian audience such as the international
one. All their musical work, in the past as today, cannot be
separated from their social task: a critic and passionate
cultural work at an international level in the popular
music field.
La Banda della Posta (South)
La Banda della Posta is an Orchestra who propones a
repertoire of mazurke, polke, valzer and Tarantelle from
the 20s and 30s South. The group all is original from
Calitri, a small village, and it is produced by
Vinicio Capossela.
I Cantori della Valnerina (Center)
It is a group of old traditional songs from Umbria, and, in
particular, from the Nero’s Valley. They play and research
all the songs and music linked to the rituals moments of
the rural world: the sowing time, the harvest time and
the epiphany. They play traditional instruments such
as organetti, fisarmonica and caccavelle. Pompilio Pileri
and Dante Bartolini were part of the group and
Valentino Paparelli and Alessandro Portelli recorded
with them and Giovanna Marini the more important LP
about the oral tradition in Umbria.
